“I saw two men rape her and when she went to run away from the third man, they shot her in front of me.” Kamila Arabe Musa bravely shared the horrific abuse she endured and witnessed while in Libya. When she and her good friend, with whom she had experienced “everything”, were finally going to get on a boat and cross to Malta, three men grabbed Kamila’s friend and started to rape her. After being raped by two men, the woman attempted to escape the third, but the men shot and killed her. Kamila recounted this harrowing experience with tears in her eyes, going on to say she was also sexually abused by a man with a gun at the same time. “Every single woman who has come through Libya has been abused in this way, if someone says she hasn’t, I’d say she’s a liar.” Watch the full interview on the Lovin Malta website
